ECIO 2012: European Conference on Interventional Oncology

The second European Conference on Interventional Oncology, ECIO 2010, organised by the CIRSE Foundation in July 2010, attracted over 1,000 participants despite the unforeseen postponement from April to July, due to the volcanic ash.

After the success of 2008, ECIO 2010 again proved to be a unique educational platform for physicians and corporate partners with a special interest in the rapidly growing field of Interventional Oncology. The program clearly demonstrated that Interventional Radiology can offer well established interventions as well as many promising new innovations.

The feedback we received was testament to the heightened interest this field is generating and we are proud to announce that the third European Conference on Interventional Oncology, ECIO 2012, will be held April 25 – 28 2012 in Florence, Italy.

Leading experts from around the world will present well established as well as up-and-coming therapies from this exciting and quickly evolving field. In response to the increasing role of imaging techniques in proper patient selection, tumour targeting, and treatment monitoring, the conference will feature newly introduced special sessions focusing on advances in cancer imaging.
We have, once again, chosen the Palazzo dei Congressi as the venue for the conference as it is conveniently located, close to the main train station as well as many hotels and restaurants. With its rich history of innovation, Florence seems just as fitting a setting for cutting-edge medicine as it is a beautiful one.

ECIO 2012 will be another top scientific and educational event and a great opportunity to exchange information with colleagues from all over the world.
